5 Items to Have Ready

Time is precious on a wedding day, every minute counts.  A time saving tip that you probably have never heard before is what to have ready for your photographer when they arrives.

In my experience, there are a few items you should pull together to get your wedding day started off right.

We all love the ‘product shots’ of the dress and shoes, but it can take your photo/video crew a bit of time to organize all this in a very busy, and often hectic, room full of women getting ready.

Here is a cheat sheet of the 5 items to have ready and waiting for your photographer when they arrive on a wedding day.

1. A PRETTY HANGER

Pack a pretty hanger for the wedding dress. You just can’t pull off the elegant dress photo with an unsightly paper-wrapped hanger.

2. ALL YOUR SHOES

Pull out your shoes – all your shoes! Your elegant heels, quirky reception sneakers or even adorable slippers you’re wearing while getting ready make for both classic and fun shots.

3. SPECIAL ACCESSORIES

Accessories are so fun to capture. Don’t forget the sentimental pieces you’ll be wearing like your grandmother’s hair comb or mother’s favorite bracelet.

4. AN INVITATION

Make sure you have one, perfect copy of your full invitation and other paper products. They provide a wonderfully personalized accent to shots.

5. SENTIMENTAL ITEMS

The most heartwarming moments are when brides share the personal and sentimental touches they’ve incorporated into their wedding. Be sure to let your photographer know if you’re carrying a special handkerchief, have a piece of your mom’s wedding gown

AND, DON’T FORGET

Have your bouquet at the ready. Your flowers are prettiest when they are fresh and make such a gorgeous backdrop or prop for photos.
